GCS Tech Tip #453: Email Security
Be very careful of any emails with attachments or links. A hacker depends upon social engineering - making the email look so legitimate that the user clicks on the attachment or link.
Check the sender by hovering the mouse over the sender to confirm the email address and be sure that you are expecting something from them, as they could have been compromised and their email may be spreading a virus.
Never wire/transfer funds without talking on the phone and knowing for sure the request is coming from a legitimate source. And NEVER open attachments or links in your JUNK folder unless you are absolutely sure.
User education is the most important part of avoiding a security breach.
